High Camp Activities

Ice Skating at the Olympic Ice Pavilion: Squaw Valley, California. The Olympic Ice Pavilion, accessed via Squaw Valley's aerial Cable Car, is a true wonder. Perched at the crest of Squaw Valley's upper mountain, the rink has views of the Squaw Valley Meadow, Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada. Open daily throughout High Camp winter and summer seasons, ice skating is available for all ages. Hockey or figure skate rentals are included. Call 530.581.7122 for hours and information.

Swimming at the Lagoon & Spa: Squaw Valley, California. Located at High Camp, the lagoon and spa are surrounded by the Sierras including views of Lake Tahoe. The free-form lagoon features 25 meter lap lanes and two islands landscaped with waterfalls and native boulders. The 25' diameter spa is heated to 102 degrees and surrounded by expansive decks and a casual umbrella bar. The Bath and Tennis Club provides lockers, showers, and changing rooms, along with towel rentals. Cost: $12 all ages. Includes locker rental, towel, sunscreen, shampoo and hair dyer.

Olympic Museum at Squaw: Squaw Valley, California. Take a trip back in time and learn about the 1960 Winter Olympics that took place at Squaw Valley USA. The Olympic Museum, located at High Camp showcases our unique collection of memorabilia, news articles, and video presentations detailing the many magical moments that took place at Squaw Valley USA. The museum is open daily at High Camp. Admission is free with your Cable Car ride.

Base Area Activities

The Cable Car: Squaw Valley, California. A ride in the scenic Cable Car is a spectacular and leisurely ride 2,000 vertical feet to the High Camp Bath & Tennis Club. The Cable Car is one of Squaw Valley's most popular year-round attractions and is open to all guests, skiers, snowboarders and walkers. Once you reach the top, the upper mountain facility features panoramic views as well as access to numerous activities and five restaurants.

Snowtubing: Squaw Valley, California. Come cruise the white stuff on our custom snow tubes. If you've never tubed before, it's a blast. Two tubing lanes provide tubers a variety of thrill levels. The snow tubing park is located at the Papoose Discovery Area. Must be 4 Years of Age to ride. Call 530.583.6955 to Purchase tickets. Tubing space is limited and sessions may sell out.

Dog Sledding: Squaw Valley, California. Wilderness Adventures offers hour-long dog sledding tours through the beautiful Squaw Valley Meadow. A racing guide leads a team of 10-10 Alaskan Huskies and guests ride in a four-person sled moving at about 13.5 miles per hour which speeds along a 2.5-mile tour that winds through the scenic meadow. Reservations are required. Headwall Climbing Wall: Squaw Valley, California. The Squaw Valley Adventure Center serves up fun and challenges for guests of all ages. Our 30' indoor wall and the 45' outdoor wall (summer only) offer exciting fun for all ages.

Headwall Sky Jump: Squaw Valley, California. Hook the bungees to your harness and start jumping on the trampolines  and soon you’re bouncing 25' in the air while performing somersaults and flips!

Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing: Squaw Valley, California. Squaw Valley offers a complete Nordic Center, conveniently located at the trailhead of the Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe trails. The Nordic Center offers about 18 kilometers (400 acres) of meticulously groomed trails that wind through the stunning Squaw Valley meadow and surrounding hillside. The trails are perfect for beginners and first timers, as well as more intermediate and advanced skiers and snowshoers. The Nordic Center also offers a variety of rental equipment including snowshoes and children’s sleds. All trails originate at the Nordic Center at Squaw Creek which is just a short, complimentary, shuttle ride from the Squaw Valley Parking Lot. Kids Snow Programs

Snow Cubs Ages 3-4 years: Squaw Valley, California. Snow Cubs is a ski/snowplay program for our 3 and young 4 year old guests. Each day is filled with fun activities, a ski lesson and snow play. All children must be fully potty trained. Set up like a pre-school program. The learning objective for this age is to familiarize the child with the equipment and snow environment and to have FUN!  We do recommend making reservations for Snow Cubs as space is available on a first come, first served basis and the program is subject to frequent sellout. Snow Sliders Ages 4-6 years: Squaw Valley, California. The focus of this program is to enhance learning and keep the kids smiling. All skill levels are welcome, with classes starting at the Children's Center beginner area. Groups will explore the mountain according to their skill level. The full day program includes several hours of on-snow instruction, a short juice break and a 1 hour lunch break. A full day of skiing can be a lot for four and five year olds. If your child chooses not to ski after lunch he/she may participate in the following activities while enrolled in the Snow Slider program: arts & crafts, using snowshoes, a funitel ride, a walk around the village, watching a movie and/or active snowplay. Rental equipment is not included in the Snow Sliders program price. Junior Mountaineers Ages 7-12: The focus is on skill development, skiing etiquette, safety, enjoying the sport of skiing, and keeping the kids smiling. All skill levels are offered, and groups will explore the mountain. The full day program includes several hours of on-snow instruction and a 1 hour lunch break. Rental equipment is not included in the Junior Mountain program price. Call 530.452.7166 for reservations.

Snowboarding Ages 7-12: Squaw Kids offers a first time and novice snowboard lesson option for the 7 through 12 age group. Instruction will focus on slope etiquette, equipment knowledge, safety, basic skills development, and of course FUN! The full day program includes several hours of on-snow instruction and a 1 hour lunch break.
Participating children will be separated into groups by age range: ages 7-8 and 8-12. Also, on weekends and holidays we will offer intermediate snowboarding lessons. Rental equipment is not included in the snowboard program price. Call 530.452.7166 for reservations.
